Hey guys, I haven't been on for months... I'm going through a rather difficult time right now irl.

Also, as much as I love you all, I realized that this account isn't for serious art.

There are many different types of people here on dA as you all know. I know there is a huge on-going issue with popularity/pageviews, involving fanarts and "real" art as some call it. I'm pretty sure we're all aware of the argument points so I'm not going to make a list but I'd like to point out something. All these fandom things are fun and all that but try not to be so quick to disregard original work, you know, let some great artists have some exposure (I'm not saying that all original work are excellent-- just know what you're looking for). There is MASSIVE amount of garbage on dA (you know there is - my definition of "garbage" may differ from yours though)but most of us come on to this site for at least one unified reason: we all find some kind of connection with art. We all have different definitions of art but if we can somehow improve our understanding of it and our "artist's eye" then this so-called art community won't be what it is today.

TL;DR rant end.

I'll be just posting fun stuff to blast off stress instead of the actual artsy side of me. I love drawing fanart.. so it'll be just all silly crap from here on out.

I'm drawing a big fanart-ish project at the moment so it's taking a while (also irl problems as mentioned before). I hope my old friends here stick around and also gain new friends (it's funny to see the different type of people in different fandoms.. very... varied).

Edited: Just so that you guys don't get the wrong idea-- what I'm trying to say is that this whole popularity competition that has otherwise sane artists obsessing over the number of pageviews and favourites is quite stupid. I personally don't give two shits about pageviews or the number of favourites I've got. If I could, I would get some magic internet eraser and get rid of those shitty little things. This isn't MySpace, it's supposed to be an ART community.

Like many other people, I enjoy fanart. A lot(if I see "alot" one more time, I WILL kill the bunny). But this isn't really a place to grow as an artist. An online community really helps to expose your work and get some feedback-- but not in this way. There are positives and negatives to that, of course, just as everything does. I'll be making a totally seperate account for things that I'd really like to delve into. This account will only be for brainless work that I drew to blow off steam along the way as I try to learn more about art and other things.

So many people confuse what art is for them and what escapist work is. When and where did our values get lost in all this mass brain-washing hysteria? I am dissapointed in the cursory outlook and understanding a ridiculous number of us have in all types of art. We're facing serious decadence in this lifetime, are we not?

Guh, sorry for being such a bitter person at the moment..
